After Bell Market Wrap-up: 12th July 2021

Amid optimistic global indications, the Indian stock markets opened positively. Sensex opened above 52,634.33 while Nifty 50 around 15,766.88. However, as the trading hours went by, the market started falling, where Sensex closed at 52,372.69(- 0.03%), and Nifty gained 2.80 points and ended at 15,692.60.

  • Godrej Properties is planning to invest $1 billion to acquire and develop new projects over the next few years.

  • SBI Funds Management (SBI FM) will distribute the fifth tranche of ₹3,303 crores to the unitholders of Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund’s six shuttered schemes during the week beginning Monday. With this, the total disbursement will reach ₹21,080 crores, amounting to 84% of assets under management (AUM) as of 23 April 2020.

  • After a month of net inflows, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) pulled out ₹2,249 crores from the Indian equities segment in July’s first seven trading sessions.

  • Mahindra Finance expands its global footprint by acquiring 58.2% stakes in Sri Lanka-based Ideal Finance at an investment of Sri Lankan Rupees 2 billion.

  • Anjani Portland Cements has increased its stakes from 82.51% to 89.15% in Bhavya Cements for Rs 52.59 per share.

  • Shaily Engineering Plastics has approved the raising of funds up to Rs 300 Cr by the issuance of securities through a QIP (qualified institutional placement) or preferential offer.

  • Flipkart has raised $3.6 billion in funding from a couple of global investors, sovereign funds, private equity, in addition to Walmart, now valued at $37.6 billion.

The market witnessed a volatile movement where Sensex closed at a 52,372.69 (- 0.03%) level amid unpredictability. The realty index gained 3.5% on the sectoral front, while IT, metal, media, energy, FMCG indices closed in the red. However, BSE small-caps and midcap indices ended in the green.
