After Bell Market Wrap-up: 14th July 2021

Another volatile day at Indian markets today! The markets began flat and started falling initially (Sensex below 52,750 and Nifty 50 below 15,800). However, after initial market hours, the equity stock markets rebounded where Sensex closed positively at 52,904.05(+0.25%), and Nifty 50 gained 41.60 points and ended at 15,853.95.

  • The share price of Tata Metaliks, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, jumped 6% after it reported a net profit of Rs 94.72 crore for the June quarter against a loss of Rs 12.36 crore in the same period last year.

  • NFO (New Fund Offer) of ICICI Prudential Flexi Cap, an actively managed open-end equity mutual fund, has mobilized more than Rs 10,000 crore with participation from 4 lakh retail investors and 15,000 distribution partners selling the NFO.

  • Integrated steel company Shri Bajrang Power and Ispat Ltd has filed preliminary papers with the capital markets regulator (SEBI) to raise ₹700 crore through an initial share sale.

  • The Government of India has approved Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), a wholly-owned unit of Adani Enterprises Ltd to take management control of the Mumbai International Airport from the GVK Group.

  • Online food delivery platform Zomato on Tuesday has informed exchanges that it has allocated 552.17 million equity shares to anchor investors at a price of ₹76 per share, out of which it has raised ₹4,196 crores from prominent institutional investors as part of an anchor book allocation, a day ahead of its public offering.

  • At the end of day one, the much-awaited Zomato’s IPO got subscribed by 1.05 times.

  • Maruti Suzuki plans to invest Rs 17,000-18,000 crore for new factory premises in Haryana to make their total capacity between 7.5 lakh and 10 lakh cars per annum.

  • CEAT has collaborated with Tata Power to set up a captive solar power plant, with a 10-megawatt capacity, for its tyre manufacturing unit in Bhandup, Maharashtra. CEAT will own 26%, and Tata Power will own 74% of the plant.

Today’s capital market witnessed a volatile movement where Sensex (134.25 points or 0.25%) and Nifty Smallcap 100 (45.35 points or 0.26%) closed positively. On the sectoral front, the NIFTY IT index gained 3.16% or 900 points, while FMCG, Pvt Banks indices were closed in the red.

Most of the cryptocurrencies are down up to 25%, where Bitcoin tanked 8% and Ethereum plunged 21%.
