About Kurukshetra University
Established in 1956 by the esteemed Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, Kurukshetra University emerged as a unitary residential institution on the profound grounds of Kurukshetra, the historic battleground of the 'Mahabharata,' resonating with the philosophical echoes of the Bhagwad Gita.
Initially beginning with the Department of Sanskrit, the university has evolved into a prestigious multi-faculty institution renowned for advanced studies and research in the region. About Faculty of Law
Faculty of Law offers LL.B. (3 Years), B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5-Year Integrated Course, LL.M. (2 Years) and Ph.D. Programmes. Since its inception, renowned, eminent, outstanding scholars have headed the Department and Institute of Law. Faculty of Law has alumni(s) as Judges of the Hon'ble Supreme Court & High Courts, Judicial Magistrates, Legal Officers, Ministers, Speaker of Vidhan Sabha, Members of Legislative Assembly, Vice Chancellors of Universities, Professors in various Universities, Bureaucrats, ADAs and many are working in the Corporate Sector in Law Firms and Multi-National Companies.
Eligibility
-
The competition is eligible for students enrolled in either a 5-year integrated LL.B. program or a 3-year LL.B. program from a recognized University or Institution approved by the Bar Council of India.

A team must consist of either three members (two 'Mooters' and one 'Researcher') or two members (two 'Mooters,' with one designated as a researcher).

Each College/Law School/Institution is limited to one participating team; no additional members or team coaches are permitted.

Registration is capped at 36 teams, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each team shall submit a registration fee of INR 3000/-. Also, Registration Fee, once submitted, will not be refunded in any case.

Registration kits and meals will be provided by the organizing university, including six meals starting from dinner on the First day to Lunch on the concluding day.
Submission of Memorials
Participants must submit electronic copies of memorials for both the Petitioner's and Respondent's sides in Word (.docx/.doc) and PDF formats.
Memorials should be emailed to nmcc2024kuk@gmail.com with the subject "Memorials for Team Code," naming files as per the team code and side represented (e.g., TC08(P) or TC08(R)).

Electronic copies must match the content of hard copies sent to the Organizers.

The deadline for sending soft copies is February 10, 2024, by 23:59 hours IST.

Hard copies of memorials for all participants must be submitted by February 15, 2024, by 23:59 hours IST.

Teams must send eight hard copies (four Petitioners & four Respondents) of their Memorials for each side to the Dean, Faculty of Law, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India 136119.
Prizes for Moot Court Competition

Winning Team Award: The winning team will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 21,000/-

Runners-Up Award: The runners-up will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 11,000/-
-
Best Mooter: Best Student mooter will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 4000/-
-
Best Memorial: Best Memorial will get a medal and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 4000/-
-
Best Researcher: Best Researcher will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 4000/-
Note: Additionally, every participating team will get Certificates of Participation.
