2.1 Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog

2.2 Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog

- The Supreme Court has ruled that the right to walk on a demarcated footpath is a fundamental right.
- A bench of justices PS Narasimha and AS Chandurkar held that a citizen’s fundamental right to walk on a demarcated footpath is primary and shall have priority over movement by motorised vehicles.
- In a significant verdict, the apex court said it forms part of the right to movement guaranteed under Article 19 (1) (d) and other fundamental rights, including Article 21- Right to life and liberty.

Article 19 (1) (d) of the Indian Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to move freely throughout the territory of India. It allows you to travel, reside, or move wherever and whenever you like across state borders and within states, though this right is subject to reasonable restrictions.
2.3 Approval for India's first Offshore Airport

- It has been launched in response to devastating earthquakes in Venezuela that caused extensive loss of life, injuries and widespread destruction.
- According to the Ministry of External Affairs, two Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft departed for Venezuela on the first day, carrying humanitarian relief supplies and a 41-member rescue team to assist ongoing relief and rescue efforts.
3.2 Interim Pact between the US and Iran

- It's a landmark 14-point peace agreement known as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
- The MoU, signed on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France and mediated by Pakistan, halts the intense direct and proxy military hostilities of Operation Epic Fury, which erupted in February 2026.
- It initiates a 60-day negotiation process between the US and Iran on nuclear proliferation, regional security, and sanctions relief.
- The agreement only requires Iran to downblend its highly enriched uranium (HEU) under International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) supervision.
- The US is committed to lifting its naval blockade, easing restrictions on Iranian oil exports, and opening talks on broader sanctions relief.
3.3 52nd G7 Summit

4.1 Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF)

5.3 Induction of the First indigenous Air Cushion Vehicle
