Recently, Tripura High Court passed an interim order, directing an officer from the Ministry of Home Affairs to bring files maintained regarding the assessment of threat perception in relation to Mukesh Ambani, his wife and children on the basis of which security has been granted to them. The said order has now been stayed by SC when the order was challenged.

Winter is here. And so is the Winter Session of the Indian Parliament! This time it is scheduled from 29th November, 2021 to 23rd December, 2021 with special adherence to COVID- 19 protocols. This date is nowadays approved by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs. In this Session, there will be 20 working days (i.e. 20 sittings). Every day there will be one hour of Question Hour and one hour dedicate to Zero Hour by both Houses of Parliament. Last year, the winter session could not be held due to the pandemic. The last three Parliamentary session were also curtailed due to the COVID scare.

Restoration of the high-speed internet services in two non- border districts is the latest step taken by the J & K Home Department to ease internet restrictions in less sensitive areas. On Aug 5, 2019 Section 144 was imposed in J&K that restricted the unlawful assembly of more than four people in a particular area. The government declared the revocation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution which gave J&K a special status within the Indian union. The government also decided to bifurcate the state into two Union Territories; Ladakh and J & K passing the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.
