CLAT EXAM 2025 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligibility for CLAT UG 2025:

  • There is no upper age limit for the UG Program. 
  • Candidate must have completed your 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks if a candidate belongs to the General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories.
  • A candidate in the SC/ST category must have scored at least 40% marks.
  • Students appearing for the 10+2 examination in the academic year (March/April 2025) are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility for CLAT PG 2025:

The PG exam is for those who want to take post-graduation courses, such as the Master of Law, at top Law Universities.

  • There is no upper age limit for the PG Program.
  • Those belonging to the General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories must have a minimum of 50% of marks in the LLB degree or its equivalent grade.
  • Those belonging to SC/ST categories must have secured 45% marks in an LLB degree or equivalent grade.
  • Students taking their final exams in April/May 2024 can also apply.
  • To qualify for the exam, one must be an Indian citizen, and NRIs and foreign nationals might also qualify to apply. However, it's essential to review the eligibility requirements for each college individually since they can differ from one college to another.

CLAT 2025 Notification

The CLAT exam date has been officially announced. CLAT 2025 is scheduled for 1 December 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Application forms are tentatively expected to be released in July.

CLAT 2025 REGISTRATION

The application form for the CLAT 2025 exam is accessible online. The CLAT registration process includes these steps:

Step 1: Visit the CLAT's official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in .

Step 2: Click on the CLAT 2025 registration link available on the home page.

Step 3: Enter the registration details, then submit it.

Step 4: Once registration is done, log in to the account.

Step 5: Complete the application form and upload the required documents, such as a photograph, signature, and domicile certificate.

Step 6: Select test centres and pay the application fee.

English Language

  • Passage of 450 words on contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing
  • 5-6 questions testing comprehension and language skills
  • Read and comprehend the main points, arguments, and viewpoints in the passage
  • Make deductions and conclusions, summarise, compare arguments or viewpoints
  • Understand the meaning of words & phrases from the passage

Current Affairs and GK

  • Passage of 450 words based on news, journalistic sources, current affairs, and general knowledge
  • Covering contemporary events of significance from India and the world, Arts and Culture, International affairs, Historical events of continuing significance

Legal Reasoning

  • Passage of 450 words based on legal matters, public policy questions, or moral philosophical enquiry
  • Identify and infer rules and principles in the passage
  • Apply rules and principles to various fact situations
  • Understand how changes to laws/principles can change their application to different fact situations

Logical Reasoning

  • Series of short passages of 300 words
  • Recognise arguments, premises, and conclusions
  • Read and identify arguments in the passage
  • Critically analyse patterns of reasoning and evaluate how well arguments work.
  • Infer from the passage, apply inferences to new situations, draw relationships, and identify contradictions or equivalences.

Quantitative Techniques

  • Short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual representations of numerical data
  • Derive, infer, and manipulate numerical information from passages, graphs, or other representations.
  • Apply 10th-standard mathematical operations, like introductory algebra, measurement, ratios and proportions, and statistical estimation.
